Thoroughly enjoyed enjoyable and delicious breakfasts!!
We stayed here before now; the staff is competent and excellent and the rooms are nicely decorated. Booked a room with great views over the valley. Terrace and a couch were provided for a really great stay on holidays. The location was marvellous, near Casa Noha. Everything was simply good.

The view over the old town is magnificant. Sleeping in a cave is an experience, if you like the concept and smell. Breakfast had large variety and was very generous
The air condition did not work. Small shower. There is no car access to the hotel and the stairs are steep. It was difficult to find the hotel, as the signs are very small.

The location was great and incredible, within a close distance from Casa Grotto di Vico Solitario

The hotel was set in a central area near to Matera Sassi and the central square. The staff was competent, always on hand when needed. I greatly enjoyed the breakfast choices, they were large and savoury.

Thoroughly enjoyed individual rooms.
The hotel had a very central position so close to the old Sassi, the train/bus station and caves in the Sasso Barisano district of Matera. It was right by Le Botteghe, where you can have dinner.

The only good thing I cansay abaout the hotel was the location.
The room was full of mold and very damp. I asked to change the room, butit was all full. The dining room was also full of mold. This is not healthy and needs to be fixed.

The hotel staff is very helpful and although we staied only one night they really gave us advice t experience the most of town. Our room was very big and had direct access to a big sunny terrace with amazing view over Matera. On top of that, breakfast is outstandig: they do coffee with a proper bar machine, brioches are twice the normal size (and full 3 times) and .. I have never had the option of (fresh) focaccia and pizza for breakfast - I will remember that breakfast forever!

Renovated building and rooms with a view. Excellent location to find a good selection of restaurants nearby with views over the valley. - So close to the sassi of Matera and the caves of Matera. - Conveniently located just off XX September from Via Roma.

OK, the location is great with a view over the Sassi and on the duomo of Matera. Mind you, by car Hotel Sassi is almost impossible to reach. Park your car at the edge of the old town and walk because there is no other way. Your reward is a spectaculair view especcially at night when al the town us illuminated. Disabled persons..this city (and hotel) mind form a challenge for you.

Excellent location in the heart of the sassi. We had breakfast outside with incredible view looking over Matera. V sweet friendly desk staff.
Unfortunately, the room details were rather haphazard, clean etc but looking onto an unkempt abandoned courtyard, our door rattled when anyone went in/out of room next door, shower door didn't close properly, and the lighting was awful, bright overhead or bedside neon.

The rooms with the terrace offer a wonderful view and have air conditioning, the location is marvelous and stunning being very close to Alberobello as well as the slope of the old city, and the check-in process was smooth.

The hotel is unique, for sure. One of a kind.
We liked the experience, but the location was a difficult walk and parking was not close by, so pack light! Not for travelers who have any trouble walking. The city at the top was amazing.
